Intermediate Hip-Hop
Ages 9+
Thursdays 5:50-6:50
Hip-Hop I in an energetic one-hour class designed for ages 8 to 12. This class introduces students to essential hip-hop techniques and stylish moves seen in music videos and TV performances. Dancers will explore body isolations, rhythmic movements, and basic hip-hop tricks, all while focusing on finding the rhythm and baseline in songs.
Students will develop core strength, flexibility, and coordination through age-appropriate, upbeat music. The class encourages creativity and personal expression, with opportunities for improvisational dance to help students discover and refine their unique style.
Music for Hip-Hop I is carefully selected to ensure it is free of suggestive or inappropriate lyrics, while choreography remains cool, current, and respectful. Dancers will perform their newly acquired skills in a vibrant showcase at the end of the year.
