Contemporary/Lyrical & Dance Line Prep Class

Wednesdays 5:30-6:30

This introductory class focuses on lyrical movement, blending ballet and jazz technique with expressive choreography that tells a story through motion. Dancers learn to connect emotionally with the music and use movement to communicate mood, intention, and narrative.

Training emphasizes alignment, control, and movement quality while introducing traveling phrases, directional changes, and fluid floorwork. While primarily lyrical in structure, the class includes light contemporary influences to broaden musicality and movement vocabulary.

Students will build strength, flexibility, and performance presence as they learn to express emotion through dance. Contemporary/Lyrical dancers will perform a lyrical routine in the year-end showcase that highlights both technical growth and expressive artistry.

Required Costumes: $120

*To be considered for a solo, duet, trio, or any specialty group piece, dancers must be actively enrolled in a technical class (such as Ballet/Jazz).
